I did my B.S. Chemistry in John’s College, Palayamkottai, and M.S. Chemistry in V.O. Chidambaram College, Tuticorin. The strong fundamental chemistry education I received at V.O. Chidambaram College under the leadership of Professors Karunakaran and Srinivasan was vital for my career development and research. I delivered the Nobel Prize Lecture on behalf of 2019 Chemistry Nobel Laureate John B. Goodenough. I was fortunate to work as a postdoctoral fellow during 1985 – 1991 with Professor Goodenough both at the University of Oxford in England and the University of Texas at Austin.
